FEATURED REPORT: Public Perception of Crime, Sentencing, Immigration Enforcement, and Bail Reform in Harris County

This new report from the Barbara Jordan Public Policy Research and Survey Center at Texas Southern University presents the findings of a countywide survey of 1,600 registered voters in Harris County. The study offers a detailed, data-driven look at how residents perceive crime, sentencing practices, immigration enforcement, and proposed bail reform measures. With results disaggregated by race, income, and political affiliation, the report sheds light on how local experiences and broader narratives shape public opinion—and how those views may influence future policy decisions.
