Michael O. Adams, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael O. Adams is a professor of political science, a political consultant and the Founding Director of the Barbara Jordan Policy Research and Survey Center, the Executive Master of Public Administration Program, and the Institute for Voter and Civic Engagement at Texas Southern University. As a political scientist, Dr. Adams is an experienced lecturer and researcher. He specializes in electoral politics, campaign management, and redistricting and has lent his expertise as a speaker, panelist and community advocate for over 30 years.

Mark P Jones, Ph.D.

Mark P. Jones is a senior research associate at Texas Southern University’s Barbara Jordan Public Policy Research and Survey Center. Dr. Jones is also the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy’s Fellow in Political Science and Presidential Elections Program Co-Director, the Joseph D. Jamail Chair in Latin American Studies, and a professor in the Department of Political Science at Rice University.

Dr. Jones is among the most-quoted commentators on Texas politics in both the state and national media, and his research on the Texas Legislature and on public opinion and elections in Texas is widely cited by media outlets and political campaigns. Jones received his B.A. from Tulane University and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Dr. Jones is co-author of Texas Politics Today and editor of Voting and Political Representation in America.
